Decorated Gift Bag
I have been so inspired by the posts of Joy and Melanie at Everyday Cricut. They have been decorating their own gift bags and they are so cute. So I decided that I needed to start making some of my own.
I decorated this plain kraft bag with all supplies from Close to My Heart. The tag is from the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge and the stamp is from the coordinating sets that come with the cartridge.
The butterfy is an Irresistibles Miracle chipboard die and it is inked with the Olive ink pad. This coordinates well with the paper and ribbon from the Wings pack .
I can't wait to make some more gift bags.
I want to say right now that the Art Philosophy cartridge set with all the extras is the best investment for a cricut newbie or a seasoned veteran who has everything. It has so much to offer. Shapes, cards, 3-D flowers and bags, a font and so much more. Then you add the 3 stamp and chipboard shape sets that coordinate with cuts on the cartridge, you just can't beat the value. If you want to get this set click the the link from my blog to CTMH and you can order it on line and with that purchase you would qualify for 2 extra deals- the Dotty for You paper pack and the Stamp of the Month- each only $5.
Thanks for visiting.

National Scrapbook Day Crop
I am getting ready for a great crop this weekend at Paper Vineyard in Chandler AZ. This is not your average crop either it is for 12 hours of crafting fun. It is also a Cricut Swarm and I love my Cricut and getting together with friends to learn something new. Every time I go to these I learn a new trick or tip or just something I hadn't tried. I hope that you are all spending time this Saturday making something with friends.
If you are in the Chandler area- go to Paper Vineyard to check out the great supplies and crop room.
I am sorting and packing to be ready and this sure is hard, what do you leave behind? I have such a hard time not bringing everything, I always look like I am moving into the store to stay for a long time.
Hope to see you there.

Teacher Appreciation gifts
Happy Wednesday! Our busy week is almost over. I have been crafting but not posting so today I have a couple of projects I am working on. Next week is Teacher Appreciation week and I have been working on gifts for my daughter's teacher and principle.
This is the gift pack for Mrs. Anderson, she loves frogs so I cut this one at 3.5inches from the Once Upon a Princess Cricut cartridge and the background paper is from the DCWV Grade School paper pack. I also used a Wobble to attach the frog on the front.
This is the back side but I didn't embellish it because it is cute all on its own. The actual card board container is a 2 drink holder from Sonic and they gave them to me for free. Who doesn't love free and being able to repurpose something. We are filling this with a drink, some candy and some teacher related items.
This next one is the same idea for the principle but decorated differently. This one uses paper from the same paper pack as above DCWV Grade school
The apple is from Just Because card cartridge from Cricut. I love this apple, I have used it so many times. It is easy to assemble and just too cute. I distressed the edges of the paper with white ink to give it a chalkboard look to it. I hope they both like them, I know I would.
Hope you have a great rest of your week. I am getting my supplies ready for a great crop this weekend but I will try to post again before the weekend.

I am having a relaxing weekend, no obligations just time for me to do whatever I want to do. Those kinds of weekends don't happen often. Today I am posting a project that I made a few months ago for a family friend's baby shower. She was having a boy and the color scheme for her shower was non-traditional. Red, black and white.
So I had this great aha moment to make a microwave popcorn pack wrapper. The sentiment for the wrapper was "ready to pop" since she was ready to deliver and the popcorn was also ready to pop.
I was really happy with how this turned out. I used 3 cartridges for this project, Nates ABCs, Sugar and Spice and Storybook. I also embossed the black background trying to give the feel of popcorn. The white band was cut at 4.25 by 11 inches and I just used tape to attach it to the popcorn pack.
The sock monkey is actually a girl with a bow on her hat but I cut off that portion and left the bow off.
What do you think?
Hope the rest of your weekend is great.

Thank goodness it is almost friday! I am glad we are almost to the weekend. I'm sure everyone else feels the same way. Today I was working on a project for Teacher Appreciation week which is the week of April 30th.
Can I tell you that I am completely obsessed with Rosettes? Are you? I have been watching videos on You Tube and I found this absolutely beautiful Vintage Rosette by Ruthean and had to scraplift her idea.
I created mine with the Cricut. The rosette is made with 3 pieces of paper measuring 9.5 inches by 12 inches. You can use a border punch for both 12 inch edges which looks great but I forgot when I was making mine. You will score the pages every 1.5 inches on the 12 inch side.
Accordion fold each piece then fold the accordion in half and glue it together to make a fan shape. She recommended quick dry glue or hot glue but I tried hot glue and it doesn't work well, so stick with quick dry glue like Zip dry or score tape, something strong. Once all 3 are glued in the fan shape you will glue them to each other to make a full rosette.
I inked the edges of the star and banner and added faux stitching to the circle. I also used dimensionals to pop up the star, scalloped circle and the banner .
I stamped the sentiment You're so sweet in brown ink and added the sparkly flowers with brown brads. I think it has a feminine country look that I hope my daughter's teacher will like.
I set an eyelet in the top where the two papers meet and threaded some ribbon through it.
Recipe:
Star- 8.5 inches from George and Basic shapes
Scalloped circle- 5.25 inches from Stamping cartridge
Circle- 4.5 inches from George and Basic shapes
Banner- 8.25 Sophisticated (shadow also)
Other supplies:
Patterned paper is from Hobby Lobby and cardstock is Bazzil
Brown ink
Sparkle flowers
Brown brads
Brown ribbon
eyelet
I hope you will try to make your own rosette. I think these are a great and easy project for any occasion. Have a terrific friday and keep crafting.
